The key to maintaining an effective relationship with support personnel is communication. The attitude and feelings of both parties must be acknowledged and respected. Regular meetings outside of class should be held to discuss any issues that may arise, student assessments, and student progress. Be sure to a offer regular recognition of support personnel’s effort and accomplishments (i.e. verbal praise, thank you notes, small trinkets, certificates, etc.)
