COLLABORATORS
Collaboration with essential personnel ensures that appropriate programming and equipment selection is achieved based on the students needs. To accomplish this, a cooperative approach with all direct and related service providers, school administrators, parents, students, and other essential providers.
INTERDISCIPLINARY (IEP) TEAM
Coordinated group of people working together toward a common goal; typically made up of direct, related, and/or indirect services providers, parent or guardian, and sometimes the student. DIRECT SERVICE PROVIDERS
Direct services are those provided directly to a child by their regular teacher(s) (GE, SPED, GPE, and/or APE) or a related service provider (OT, PT, Speech, Behavior Specialist, etc.) for the purpose of attaining educational goals. INDIRECT SERVICE PROVIDERS
Indirect services are not provided directly to a child. Such services include activities such as consultation services, curriculum modification services, observation services, and/or monitoring services for the purpose of enhancing the students learning experience. PARENTS or GUARDIANS
Parents or Guardians play a vital role in the child's education. They serve as advocates for their, participate throughout the IEP process, and are able to provide a deeper understanding of the child. OTHERS
Others who may collaborate regarding the students educational goals and objectives may include individuals such as: Physicians, Nurses, School Counselors, School Psychologists, and student themselves. |
